How Patience Can Help You Achieve Goals Faster

by | Oct 25, 2022 | Podcast | 0 comments

It’s easy to confuse patience with waiting around and doing nothing, but patience is a very powerful action that makes a world of difference when working towards your goals.

Having patience means making intentional choices about how you want to spend your time, money, and energy on what you hope to achieve.

In this episode, I recall the consequences of being impatient as well as the beauty that transpires when we take the time necessary to think through big decisions.

I know being patient isn’t always easy, and I hope hearing my own challenges with impatience can help you avoid the same mistakes I made. When we give ourselves time and grace to process what is most important to us, it makes it all worth it.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • How a lack of patience can lead to costly mistakes
  • Why arbitrary timelines are not helpful to achieving goals
  • Understanding patience is a form of taking action

Must-listen moments:

[00:08:27]  When we are impatient with others, they can hear it and sense it. They can read between the lines in your emails, and…it actually can cause people to underperform.

[00:11:34] “It’s that time-bound thing that’s the killer when it comes to having patience because we put an arbitrary timeline on something we want to achieve. Then we beat ourselves up when we don’t have it by that certain time period, which was arbitrary to begin with…that is a waste of our time, a waste of our energy, it brings us down and it doesn’t do anything for us.”

[00:13:39] In a big way, having patience is a form of taking action.
